Hello Everyone! Sorry that it’s taken me so long to post a
blog BUT here’s what I’ve been up to.
After a very intense 14 hour bus ride through the night
across the Kenyan terrain, we arrived in Mpeketoni Lamu. Mpeketoni is a wonderful little
town. Everyone here is extremely
friendly and loving to us or muzumgu (white person). We’re staying at the church, Christ the King, which is about
a 5 minute walk away from town.
Bishop Maurice, his family and the other members of the church might be
the nicest, most genuine people that I have ever met. I could write for days about how much Bishop loves, praises,
worships and lives for God. It’s
amazing how freely he lives to serve.
My TEAM! I’ve
been lucky enough to join with team Powerhouse. Although the name is a little intimidating (haha) I could
not have asked for a better group of people to work, learn and serve along side. By just having conversations with all
of them, I am learning so much about myself. What makes them so wonderful is that they’re all amazing
Christians but all express their love for God differently. Each member
contributes to a separate aspect of my growth because I have different
similarities with each person. It
very easy to fit in with the team because they are so loving. I could talk for
days about them too but just to give you an idea.
Bill â€" our team leader, he always knows how to make every
situation fun and light hearted.
Katie â€" Bill’s wife, soooo smart and teaches the Bibles soo
well, carries herself very confidently in her love for God, helpful
**Bill and Katie’s marriage is the most beautiful
partnership I’ve ever seen. They
set a great example of a healthy Christian relationship and I love it.
Emily â€" LOVING LOVING LOVING… so compassionate and is easy
to talk to
Danny â€" his love for God radiates in everything that he
does. So enthusiastic about God
and his presence makes every experience better because of his fun loving
personality.
Lana â€" hilarious, fun, always knows how to make you laugh,
extremely thoughtful and really cares about helping other people
Kelly â€" empathetic, provides great guidance, joyful
Jesse - sick right now but all I hear is AMAZING things :)
